Simple Mobile access point name (APN) setting is a requirement for all cellular devices that wish to connect to the internet over the 4G or 5G networks. These settings are set on the device so it can connect to the network and the internet. To successfully connect to the internet, you need an active data plan and be within an area with network connectivity.
APN is basically the name of the gateway that the device connects to on the service provider’s network. APN settings however do not only contain the name of the gateway on the service provider’s network. It contains other settings pertaining to your connection like the type of APN and protocol used. It also contains other network services settings like the MMSC and the port.
APN settings are normally set automatically when a user first boots up their device with Simple Mobile SIM or eSIM in them. In some situations, the user needs to set up the APN manually. Such cases are when the APN is missing or deleted. The settings provided below are for iOS/iPhone and Android devices.
APN on Android Devices
To access the APN settings section on Android devices, follow the steps below:
- Settings
- Connections / Network & internet / Wireless & internet
- Mobile networks / SIMs then select your appropriate SIM, Simple Mobile for this case.
- Access point name
- Add / +
Input the Simple Mobile APN settings below.

- APN type: default,mms,supl
- APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
- APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
Save the settings then select Simple Mobile as your APN settings. You may need to restart your Android device.
APN on iPhone/iOS
Access the APN settings page on iOS by navigating to:
- Settings
- Cellular / Mobile Data
- Cellular Data Network / Mobile Data Network
Input the Simple Mobile APN settings below.
