Verizon APN (access point name) settings are necessary for network service access like the internet through 4G and 5G cellular connections. Every device with Verizon SIM requires APN settings for it to get all the network services assuming users already meet all the requirements. The internet for example requires users to be within network coverage and an active data plan.
APN is essentially the name of the gateway on the cellular network. Verizon APN is vzwinternet. The settings do not only contain the name of the APN but also other host of settings like the protocol in use, the type of APN and MMS settings. These settings have to be set up the way they appear for a successful network service access.
APN settings are normally automatically set up when a device is detected on the network and specific settings determined by the SIM card. In situations where they are deleted or need to be configured manually, I have provided the settings for Android and iOS devices below.
APN Settings on Android
Locate the APN setting page by navigating to:
- Settings
- Connections / Network & internet / Wireless & internet / More
- Mobile networks / SIMs then select Verizon
- Access point name
- Add / +
Input the Verizon APN settings below;

Leave other fields not indicated below blank or with their default figures.
- Name: Verizon
- APN: vzwinternet
- MMSC: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
- MMS Port: 80
- MCC: 310
- MNC: 012
- APN type: default,mms,supl
- APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
Save then select Verizon as your active APN.
APN Settings on iPhone / iOS
Locate APN settings page on an iPhone by navigating to:
- Settings
- Cellular / Mobile Data / Mobile Service
- Cellular Data Network / Mobile Data Network
Input vzwinternet as your APN.

Leave the Username and password fields blank and input the APN under LTE and APN fields.

Tap back to save the newly added APN and turn OFF then ON your mobile data.
